天使不穿Ｐｒａｄａ（下）

荣耀的代价
只是，要想拥有这样令人艳羡的工作，要想成为众人瞩目的焦点，就必须牺牲平凡人所拥有的幸福，比如温情、比如闲适、比如家庭，就连Miranda自己也不例外。她深爱自己的两个宝贝女儿，却不能与她们朝夕相伴，所以只能尽力满足她们的种种要求，甚至要求Andy设法搞到还未出版的《哈里·波特》手稿。她希望维系属于自己的温暖家庭，但她的三任丈夫最终还是选择与她分道扬镳。在没有人的角落，她卸下强硬的面具，露出自己脆弱和疲惫的一面，但仅仅只是那么一会儿，第二天，她依旧是那个叱咤天下的女王。
Miranda: I can't imagine what they're gonna write about me. The Dragon Lady, career-obsessed, Snow Queen drives away another Priestly. Rupert Murdoch should cut me a check for all the paper I sell for him. Anyway, I don't really care what anybody writes about me. But my girls... I just ... It's just so unfair to the girls... It's just... another disappointment... another letdown, another father figure gone... Anyway, the point is ... the point is we really need to figure out where to place Donatella because she's barely speaking to anyone...
Andy: I'm so sorry, Miranda. If you want me to cancel your evening, I can...
Miranda: Don't be ridiculous. Why would we do that?
Andy: Um, is there anything else I can do?
Miranda: Your job. That's all.

米兰达:真是无法想象他们到底会怎么写我。龙头老大，事业型女强人，被杂志赶走的米兰达普利斯利。大老板罗伯特应该给我开张支票，作为从前我帮他卖掉所有杂志的报酬。无论如何，我其实一点儿也不在乎别人写我些什么。但是我的宝贝女儿……这对她们实在是太不公平了。又一次让她们失望、让她们失落、又一任老爸离她们而去。关键是我们需要想清楚怎么安置唐纳泰拉，因为她一向不知道怎么跟他人讲话。
安迪:真抱歉，米兰达。如果需要我帮你取消你的晚宴的话，我……
米兰达:别傻了，干嘛要取消啊！
安迪:我还能为你做些什么吗？
米兰达:做好你的工作。就这样吧。
生活的意义
最终，在即将跨入名利场的门槛前，Andy作出了自己的选择。她扔掉了片刻不离身、让Miranda随时召唤的手机，转身潇洒离开。抛开了浮华和喧嚣的Andy，这时才意识到:金钱，名利只不过是身外之物，能够和深爱的人在一起，分享乐与愁，其实比什么都好。这一天，Andy鼓足勇气，约男友Nate在咖啡馆见面。
Nate: I have to be at work in 20 minutes... What's up?
Andy: Well, I just... I wanted to say that you were right about everything. That... I turned my back on my friends and my family... and everything I believe in. And- and for what?
Nate: For shoes and shirts and jackets and belts.
Andy: Nate. I'm sorry.
Nate: I- I flew up to Boston while you were gone. I interviewed at the Oak Room.
Andy: And?
Nate: And you're looking at their new sous-chef. I'm moving up there in a couple of weeks.
Andy: That's great. Congratulations... I don't know what I'm gonna do without those late-night grilled cheeses.
Nate: But...I'm pretty sure they have bread in Boston. May even have Jarlsberg. We might be able to figure something out.
Andy: You think?
Nate: Yeah... So what about you? I mean, what are you going to do now?
Andy: Actually I have a job interview today.
Nate: Oh, yeah?
Andy: Mm-hmm.
Nate: That's what you're wearing?
Andy: Shut up, I like this.

安迪:然后呢？
内特:然后你现在正在注视的人成为了他们的新厨师。我想我几周之内就会搬到那里去。
安迪:（怅然若失地）太好了。恭喜你……真不知道以后深夜里没有你做烤干酪我可怎么过。
内特:我敢担保波士顿一定有面包，甚至还有挪威奶酪。我们应该可以想办法解决这个问题的。
安迪:你真的这么想吗？
内特:嗯，是啊。那你呢？我是说，你接下来准备做些什么？
安迪:其实我今天有个工作面试要去。
内特:真的吗？
