放松心情 走进双语吧(七)

  你觉得说一口流利地道的英文很难吗?不知道大家是否记得小时候学习语文时一笔一划练习写字,一词一句地默写时的情景。其实学习每一种语言都是如此,我们并不需要葵花宝典。多听,多说,多写,多读......一点点地积累,就一定有所收获!如果“双语吧”可以成为大家学习英语、了解西方文化的一座桥梁的话,那就再好不过了!

  dictionary: 字典,词典。
  worst: bad的最高级,表示最糟糕的,最坏的。程度由弱及强是bad(坏的,糟糕的)-worse(更坏的,更恶劣的)-worst(最坏的,最糟糕的)。
  Better:更好的,程度由弱及强是 good (好的)-better(更好的)-best(最好的,最棒的) 。
  expect:(vt.)期待, 预期, 盼望, 指望;(口语)料想, 认为。
  注:约翰森(1573-1637),英国文学家、诗人。字典和手表都是日常生活必需品,有总比没有好,但最好的字典也可能会有错误,最好的手表每年也可能差一两秒。其实人生也是一样,不可能十全十美。

   Why not take down your nose
  Tom, aged five, was curiously (1)watching his grandpa playing with (2)his false tooth(3), taking it down, washing and fixing again. Finally asked his grandpa, “Well, what else are you doing?” “Well,”said the little Tom, “Now you should take down your nose.”
