注：史蒂文森（1850—1894），苏格兰小说家、诗人和随笔作家。《金银岛》（Treasure Island）是他的代表作。
笑是一种世界语言，可以与他人一起分享；哭泣多半是私人的，别人不会无缘无故与你一起哭泣。

A Sunday-school teacher was telling her pupils the importance of making others glad. 揘“Now, children,”said the teacher, Has anyone of you ever made someone else glad?”“Ms,”said a small boy“I have made someone glad yesterday.”“Well done, who was that?”“My granny.”“Good boy, now tell us how you made your grandma glad?”“I went to see her yesterday and had stayed with her for a long time. Then I said to her ‘Granny, I am going home,’and she said‘Well, I am really glad.’”?

“老师， ”一个小男孩说：“昨天我就使别人高兴过。”
“做得好。是谁呢？”
“我奶奶。”
“好孩子，现在告诉我们，你是怎样使你奶奶高兴的？”
“是这样的，我昨天去看望她，在她那儿呆了好久。然后我跟她说：‘奶奶，我要回家了。’她说：‘啊，我真是太高兴了。’”
